Itinerary (day by day)
Day 1 – Arrive at the birthplace of Jazz – New Orleans! (Transfer to hotel):
Whether you arrive in the morning or in the afternoon, spend the remainder of the day exploring this unique city at your leisure. Visit the antique stores on Royal Street in the historic French Quarter or stroll along world-renowned Magazine Street with its antique and specialty shops and galleries. Time permitting, you may want to venture into the Warehouse District and enjoy its distinctive art galleries.

Day 2:
Experience the primeval environment that welcomed the early settlers to Louisiana, this land of marshes and swamps. Tour bayous dotted with imposing native cypress trees adorned with flowing Spanish moss. Glimpse a variety of wildlife and don't be surprised if you even see an alligator!
In the afternoon, lunch at a plantation restaurant and be treated to our famous Louisiana cuisine. (Lunch is included in this package.) Afterwards, stroll through two antebellum plantations and hear about the history and romance of those bygone days. Then, back in the city, you will have time to rest before you set out on the town!
Day 3:
Begin the day with a family visit to the Aquarium of the Americas, one of the country's largest. Imagine you are swimming the deep as you walk through a tunnel and are surrounded by fish and exotic sea creatures. Be awed as you stand and view one of the most impressive collections of sharks in the world. After you have toured this 132,000-gallon aquarium, take in an Imax (giant screen) movie that is sure to capture a child's imagination (and an adult's, also)!
Relax through lunch, then take a short walk through the Central Business District (CBD) and the Warehouse District to the Louisiana Children's Museum. This gallery offers a hands-on experience designed especially for children (but fun for adults, too). “Please touch” are the signs you see here!
Spend the remainder of the day exploring more of this unique city at your leisure. Take in some more tax-free shopping at the Canal Place Shoppes (Saks Fifth Avenue, Gucci, Laura Ashley, etc.) or the Riverwalk Mall (Eddie Bauer, Banana Republic, etc.), just steps from your hotel!
Day 4:
The morning is yours to explore the narrow streets of the captivating French Quarter. Perhaps you would like to treat yourself to some traditional delectable beignets and café au lait at the venerable Cafe du Monde on Jackson Square, and then do some window-shopping.
Later in the morning, take the St. Charles streetcar or the Magazine bus to the Audubon Zoo in Audubon Park! Spend pleasant hours roaming the world-class zoo, and enjoy the scenic park with its grand live oaks. Definitely, this is an unforgettable experience for the kids (and mom and dad, too!).
The afternoon is yours free to visit other parts of the city, including taking a ferry ride across the Mississippi River to historic Algiers! Walk the streets lined with historic homes, shops and quaint restaurants. Visit the glass artists' shop, where you can see glass blowing demonstrations as well as buy many unique souvenirs of your visit. These and many other interesting sights await you!
Day 5:
In the morning, take a leisurely stroll through the French Quarter and enjoy the smells of fresh-brewed coffee coming from the various coffeehouses of the Vieux Carré. Later in the morning, a guided carriage ride will take you through the quaint and narrow streets of the French Quarter, while passing by many famous and picturesque sites.
Spend the remainder of the day free to explore the unique city at your own pace. Perhaps you would like to visit a museum? Be sure not to miss the New Orleans Museum of Art with its' unforgettable collection of Fabergé Eggs or The Cabildo (Museum) dedicated to Louisiana History! There are also numerous art galleries to choose from in the French Quarter, Warehouse District, or on Magazine Street. Or perhaps you wish to take the historic Streetcar along the famed St. Charles Avenue, passing by the Garden District and the Uptown Section of town riding by Tulane & Loyola Universities as well as beautiful Audubon Park. You can get off to lunch in the Riverbend Section with its' numerous specialty boutiques.
Then your evening begins by embarking on the Jazz Dinner Cruise on the Mississippi River. On board a nineteenth -century style paddle-wheel steamboat, you will have a different and spectacular view of the city while dining and listening to the music born in New Orleans, Jazz!
Day 6 – Departure (Transfer to airport) – Depart New Orleans with many unforgettable memories!
