Whitney plantation - wallace!

No other plantation recounts the story of slavery more vividly than Whitney Plantation.  Careful historical information has been gathered and documented to make this plantation unique among all other plantations.  This visit focuses on the viewpoint of the slave(s) and not the owners.  Definitely a tour you won't forget!

Laura plantation - vacherie!

Discover the rich French Creole history of the Duparc-Locoul family, before and after the Civil War.  The visit includes both the main house (plantation) as well as a visit to the authentic slave cabins on the property!  Perhaps one of the best guided plantation tours in Louisiana!

Oak alley plantation - vacherie!

Perhaps the most photographed plantation in the South with its magnificent 300 year old Oak Trees lining the path from the Mississippi River to the plantation.  Hear the stories of the various occupants leading up to its almost demise before being saved by a non-profit foundation.

Houmas house - darrow!

Houmas House is without a doubt one of the most impressive plantations, if not for its history then for its luscious and beautiful gardens.  The current owner has maticulously restored the home and gardens to its former glory.  An overnight stay in the cottages near the mansion is an unforgettable experience!

Frogmore cotton plantation -  frogmore!

If you want to visit the only active cotton plantation in Louisiana, this is the tour for you!  See a brief film about the plantaiton before tour the extensive grounds and if you happen to be visiting during production, pick cotton in one of the many fiels surrounding the plantation!

Melrose plantation - melrose!

Once a very prosperous plantation for 200 years in Northern Louisiana, now is historic museum dedicated to recounting the story of the life on a plantation before the Civil War.  Your visit will also include a visit to the plantation's small museum dedicated to the plantation cook who became famous in the art world for her premitive art!

madewood plantation - napoleonville!

The only way to tour this plantation is to be a guest in one of the many rooms in the plantation!  Cocktails, a scruptulous dinner and after dinner drinks are all inlcuded in the overnight stay!  If you want an extraordinary stay at a historic home in Louisiana, this plantation will not disappoint you!

loyd hall - cheneyville!

Another exclusive plantation that is only available to tour when you stay overnight here.  After a delicious breakfast, tour this almost 200 year old home located just 20 minutes from Alexandria, in the middle of the state!
